Thanks I a going to keep in touch with him. I have been anxious recently bec. I've been having fevers and feeling nauseous and weak, none of the toxicologists and animal bite specialists in Manila were able to help me (though they were very kind and doing their best) They said they just aren't familiar with a jellyfish sting like mine.

It has been 19 days since my sting,now I am feeling better so I am not so worried anymore, except about the legs scarring and the possibility of not wearing mini skirts anymore!!!!

regarding stinger suits, I recommend that esp. to children!!!

You might want to get in touch with Mr. John Lippmann at DAN Asia Pacific, they are very interested in identifying jellyfish and their movements. He can also tell you how serious your injuries are and how lucky you are to have survived this. A stinger suit is definately worthwhile wearing.

I am not Malaysian, rather, Filipina. I was stung in 100 Islands, Pangasinan,one of the most popular tourist sites in the country.

jellyfish avoid humans and it would not have stung me had I not approached it first (thinking it was a live blue coral).A skin suit just covering the upper body/torso would be enough. I believe being stung on the legs and arms (like me) is not quite dangerous.

In Thailand it's sufficient to know that occasionally they may be around, just being aware and consequently being prepared should be sufficient. Have a skin suit to wear when you go in the water and have vinegar at hand. No reason to get paranoid or excited about, just be aware!
