PADI Instructor Development Update on Koh Tao in April 2016

The PADI Instructor Development Update on Koh Tao in April 2016 took place today and it was George Wegmann who works at the Sydney office who presented this update.

After my recent participation in Manila, Philippines last year and on Bali in Indonesia in 2013, it was time for Koh Tao again, just like in 2014. It was almost a year to the date that I visited Koh Tao for the last time, the occasion at the time being a PADI Course Director round table meeting.

There were eleven participants, consisting of PADI Course Directors from Koh Tao itself and two PADI Course Directors based on Koh Samui.

The morning was spent discussing various topics, presented by George Wegmann and PADI Regional Manager Gio, covering some interesting aspects of the growing OCT market, or also known as Overseas Chinese Tourists. They start to visit the South East Asian market in big figures.

Besides presentations by the PADI staff, there was also a lunch which was followed by a pool session, during which evaluation of some skills was practiced and discussed.

Being fully updated again, my next three PADI IDC's are scheduled to take place on Phuket in Thailand in conjunction with PADI CDC Center 'Dive Asia', starting 3rd May and 7th and 29th June.
