Deep dive timed task at Pescador island
All three candidates participated in the
Nitrox Instructor specialty, which is included in all of my IDC's for free. Irish however opted for 5 more specialties; Deep, Night, Underwater Navigation, Drift and Digital Underwater Photography.
Practicing using a compass on land before the actual dive
We had some lovely dives and the deep dive to 38 meters stood out because of the great visibility at Pescador island and the absence of a current and yesterday evening's night dive stood out because fo the amount of underwater life we encountered, including a 'sponge crab' or 'Dromiidae', a first for me. The mating mandarin fish were also very nice to see during that dive.
Ardeadoris egretta nudibranch by Irish during her Digital Underwater Photography dive
We had a couple of great and enjoyable dives, just what we needed in order to relax after the previous busy and stressful weeks of the IDC and PADI IE.
Specialty instructor is offered after each PADI IDC and on special demand in-between IDC programs. The next
PADI IDC is scheduled to start 3rd January 2015 on
Koh Lanta, Thailand, followed by a program scheduled to start 3rd February on
Phuket, Thailand which is followed by a program scheduled to start 9th March in
Moalboal, Philippines again.
