PADI Instructor Development Update Koh Tao, Thailand 2014

Every year PADI staff conduct 'PADI Instructor Development Updates' at various locations around the region. Last year I attended the update on Bali and this year Koh Tao was the better option for me, looking at my busy schedule.

Presenters were Thomas Knedlik and Rob Scammell, helped out by Regional Manager Gio. The morning we spent indoors, listening to various presentations, discussing changes in among others, the 'Open Water diver course'.

The afternoon was spent in the pool, looking at two 'new' skills, added to the revised 'Open Water diver' course.
As the above picture shows, there was a good turn out, with some 27 attendees. All PADI Course Directors, Master Instructors and IDCS Instructors.

It was interesting and worthwhile finding out out about changes and how to apply the changes.
Now it's off to Gili Air in Indonesia soon, to start the next PADI IDC on 2nd May, followed by 26th May in Moalboal in the Philippines, which is followed by a program starting 10th June on Koh Samui in Thailand and 1st July on Phuket, Thailand.
