During the current
PADI IDC on Koh Lanta, I kept bumping into former IDC candidates, which is a nice experience.
The first one to meet was Jackie, who participated in my first ever PADI IDC on Malapascua. Via Facebook we found out that we both would be on
Koh Lanta during the same time frame. That's extra special, considering that Jackie lives in South Korea! We had dinner together and it was good to catch up.
At PADI 5* IDC Center Blue Planet Divers here on Koh Lanta, where I conduct the current
PADI IDC, two instructors did their IDC with me last year, Hugues in
Khao Lak and David on
Gili Air in Indonesia.
On the third day on the island, on my to the classroom, I saw a familiar face and sure enough, it turns out to be David from the
October 2013 IDC on Gili Air! He's now working on Koh Lanta and I saw him already a few times since.
So far the last person to meet, was Anand, who staffed last years IDC in January on Koh Lanta. We had dinner and once more, it was good to catch up. Anand owns a dive center and they are running an IDC simultaneously with ours.
It's good to bump into all these former IDC candidates, as Jackie would say; 'it's a small world' and it's oh so true!
